I can't believe we're already doing this, but the time has come for bunk beds! Ava almost fell head first out of the crib a couple of weeks ago, and it scared us enough to go ahead and get the girls some bunk beds. We found these on craig's list and loved them. The bottom is a full-sized bed so I have a feeling eventually both girls will end up on the bottom. For now Abigail is sleeping on top and loving it. She is so proud of herself. Ava is sleeping well on the bottom-she looks so tiny in that big bed! The main problem has been getting her to go to sleep. She just wants to stay up and play. This morning both girls came walking into our bedroom after they woke up. It was so cute. I really can't believe Ava is already big enough for this. It seems like the second grows up a little faster than the first.

Cute! I know. We moved Mathis into a bottom bunk at 21 months and at first he was kind of scared to get out, but then the he realized his freedom and it was sooo hard to keep him in there. Of course, once we moved to the Mtn, he cried while sleeping on his mattress several nights in a row, so we put him back in the pack n' play and he was so much happier. This week he's sharing a bunk with Rachel again and so far has been doing better. I feel like he understands the threat more clearly now, five months later. We'll see how it goes once we're in bunks in Spain. It might be good for Abigail and Ava to share the bottom. Abigail's such a snuggler, she will enjoy Ava's company and maybe Ava will stay better. Keep us posted. :) Love you.
I can't believe she's big enough for that!!! So glad you guys are back in GA...we need to get together soon!
they are so cute! i, too, can't believe ava is big enough to be in a big girl bed!!
They look great! We've taken some small steps backwards - Mason wants Miles Avery back in his crib so Mason can sleep on the bottom. Lots of crying, but we're pushing through! I wish the bunk beds came with an instruction manual for the kids!
I know what you mean about the second one seeming to grow up faster than the first! That's how it is with ours, too. Jocelyn's doing everything faster, or maybe it's just that we were waiting and waiting for each milestone with Elisa, and now we're like..."hey, look! Jocelyn's crawling up the stairs! Isn't she too young for that?"
Elisa's in a full size bed, too, and she often calls one of us in the middle of the night to join her. :) She's been there since she was about 18 months because she moved and stretched and needed the space outside the crib. Your bunk beds look very cute. Maybe we'll have to look into something like that one day...
So cute!!! I'm envious of their bed - it looks so fun! :)
Thanks for "being the bed" for Amelia the other night. :)
hey! i've been looking for bunk beds just like that!! you and i have the same taste in stuff i think. remember even down to our silverware. he-he. so far, no luck for us. myah is in a toddler bed, but i know we'll have to do something soon. i love your beds! we looked on craig's list and found a beautiful set with mattrices and all, but a little out of our price range. oh well, we'll keep looking. :) love looking at your pictures. i wish our girls could be friends. i think all four of them would hit it off. :)
